Major initiatives in the following sectors for the last 30 years

Area coverage - 30 villages in the Shivaganga river valley and 112 villages in the Gunjavani river valley with project offices at Shivapur and Velhe

Annual budget for 1999-2000 Rs.

Sources of Revenue :- Project grants from CAPART and other state/central government and donor agencies, contributions from villagers, subsidies from the parent institution

30 professionals incuding experts from sociology, engineering, economics and social work disciplines

Philosophy and Mission

Holistic and integrated approach towards the concept of development
People-centered development initiated by villagers and facilatated by the outside interventions
Development activities to cover all cross-sections of the community including women and socially,economically backward sections
Development which is sustainable, focusses not only on creation of physical assets, but also strengthens and builds capacities in local groups to initiate development through their efforts
Unit devlopment in the valley and not isolate villages/locality
