`Jijamata Sahavichar Kendra :
A Forum in which women from various strata in the valley
are organised, ` Personality and leadership development
through various individual and group tasks for
housewives, women participating in community initiatives,
local government and co-operative bodies are held.
`Kishori Vikas Yojana for
Rural adolescent girls - study skills, physical education
and socio-cultural activities are conducted. Exposure
trips, study tours, short courses in technical skill
training are organised. Nearly 300 girls in 15 villages
are benefitted.
Rural Talent Development Programme
started in 1993, expanded in 10 villages from 6 Talukas
of Pune District. Knowledge, skill and attitude training
for local leadership development is being imparted to 700
students from rural areas. Efforts are taken to provide
appropriate forward linkages to these youths to take up
leadership roles in village environment.
As a part of the local leadership
development programme, men and women representing various
sectors of village life are trained by field experts. The
participants include Sarpanchs, Co-operative society
members, school teachers, Mahila Mandal and Tarun Mandal
members.
Community initiatives against
social evils are co-ordinated and supported by legal aid,
counselling, media campaigns, etc.
