JNANA PRABODHINI

The last year and a half have seen Jnana Prabodhini (JP) growing. If the review period from October 1998 to March 2000 is to be described in three words, these words are DEEPER, WIDER and STRONGER. Jnana Prabodhini has reached DEEPER into the society, to groups of neglected people in the area where it has been working. The scope of Jnana Prabodhini's activities has grown WIDER reaching new towns and villages by way of extension activit ies and new projects. The ongoing work of Jnana Prabodhini has grown STRONGER in several ways- stronger in numbers, stronger by capacity building of the workers, stronger due to increased focus in the objectives of the various departments. This activity r eport of Jnana Prabodhini (JP) includes narratives of all these types of growth. JP has always aimed at reaching deeper and deeper strata of the society. By reaching fellow-men and women from these strata, JP wants to participate in their individual transf ormation by helping them in enhancing their self-esteem. JP also wants to reach people from all parts of India. By way of study tours and relief work, training programmes and periodical activities, short term projects and regular branch centres, JP wants t o bring about transformation in all areas of social life by motivating new groups of dedicated capable workers.
